I am writing to see if by some chance you could assist me with information concerning a certain shop situated on a main road in Ramsbottom during the 1940s and 1950s.

The shop in question was we believe, called 'A V Taylors', and was a sweet shop. We are conducting the final part of a family tree for our mother.

This shop had a fireplace which is still there. The cast iron fireplace may be original and the tiles surround may have been there in the 1950s. Much more recently a wooden surround has been added and the grate filled with artificial coals
