Question

answer

I have recently purchased an old cottage that used to be King George II Cooperage prior to the building of Royal William Yard Cooperage in Plymouth. Later it was a workers cottage for a brick works in the late 1800's - mid 1900's.  There are no old photo's that we can find of our property or any interesting historical entries! however, When clearing the garden, we came across an old glass bottle from "Giles mineral water" there is no stopper with it, but we were wondering whatever happened to Giles Mineral Water.. the only reference I can find is that of the Zeppelin bombing of the site in 1917!  Trying to date the bottle, we can only guess that it was discarded by one of the workers.. possibly while waiting for his ferry lift back to Plymouth!  Anything you can help with would be interesting and useful.  Thanks
